Greetings,
Several years ago I reached a career plateau. I was in a job that underutilized
my God-given gifts, talents, and abilities. I began to seek God for direction,
and He told me, "Karen you are not what you do." He was saying to me, "You are
not defined by what you are doing or not doing at this moment in time." I rested
in that for a short season. One year later and still quite unhappy I cried out
to God and said what is going on, why am I still in this dead end job? Six
months later, my position was eliminated. I had no idea what my next step would
be. After 20 years in Corporate America I felt I'd accomplished so much, but all
of it began to blend into one purposeless position after another. Continuing in
prayer God spoke to me again and this time He said, "It's not about doing, it's
about being."
So one morning I was browsing the web and found myself on the Transformational
Leadership Coaching site. The site held my attention because the homepage spoke
about Jesus as the life coach. I was intrigued by what I was reading, and as I
continued to read along, I ran across the statement, because it's not about
doing, it's about being. I sat speechless, very still, staring into my PC
monitor. I knew God had just revealed my next step--a Christian coach. I finally
got it! So I began researching coach training programs and found CCI. The timing
was impeccable.
I enrolled into the CCI coach training program. The program revolutionized every
area of my life; my prayer life, my marriage, the way I parent our two beautiful
daughters, the way I view money, and my friendships. Specifically, I am a
healthier and wiser communicator. I am much more cognizant of word choices, and
when to delay an inappropriate response for a proper response at a later time. I
am happy in the "now moment" of my life without everything being exactly
perfect. I'm finally resting in what is, not what could be, should be, or even
what will be. I am enjoying life right now without worry, fear, or even hoping
for something better! I love the life God has given me. I'm utilizing my
God-given gifts, talents, and abilities. I'm living in a flow of joy, peace, and
contentment. I am delicately balanced between being like Jesus and doing the
works of Jesus.
So, this and so much more is what I desire for your coach training experience.
This desire is the cornerstone upon which I founded GOD's Coach University. I
bring all of my experience to the table as it has contributed to my entire
outlook on life. This outlook can be summed up by one question. How can this
experience mold, shape, and make me/others more into the image of Jesus Christ?
My teaching and coaching philosophy is consistent with this outlook. It's what I
call the D.I.A.M.E.N. (pronounced diamond) approach. The D for discovery,
I for instruction, A for admonish, M for model, E for encourage, and N for
nurture, inciting all to grow into the full stature of Jesus Christ.
I coach and teach with grace, joy, wisdom, and love while utilizing humor,
intimacy, praise, story telling, and power-packed questions. My passion is to
train today, to equip for abundant living tomorrow. I hope to see you in our
coach training program and to have the honor of developing you into the coach
God intended.
With genuine love,
